Re: You May Not Bid On This Player

The "You may not bid on this player" message is supposed to occur when there is an IP match (current or recent past) between the potential buyer and the selling manager. This is an anti-cheating measure. Whilst people can innocently share the same/similar IP addresses (sometimes without ev...

Re: Rethinking age-based characteristics

Focus purely on DEV. Buy high potential young players, develop, sell on at 21. OD and T20 are purely to speed development. The value his players gain means he must have one of the highest bank balances in the game. The newbie strategy on steroids. If at some point he wanted to buy a team to win all...

I think the sell for a loss is the critical bit - people try to get the most out of their resale, which seems to have shifted to earlier and earlier in the player's career. Re: Rethinking age-based characteristics

We had a recent discussion on career length in the forums and Tonks was held up as the noble employee of veterans. In my view this kind of proves the point - most of his team are late bloomers. Well I have had plenty of non-late bloomers who I have kept into their 30s eg. Berrisford, Petrie, Mavuso...

Re: Rethinking age-based characteristics

I think generally players are sold too early. They are essentially at the peak at 25/26 with experience. It seems a bit strange to pay huge money for a player. Develop them for seasons and seasons, pay for coaching and their wages. And then as soon as they peak then sell for a big loss. People are ...
