Durham are going bonkers for this guy. I was looking for a 150k bid at max but they are very eager to buy him. Even I threw 200k but still they outbid me

Current price (279K) seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Stands at 293k now.

It is too high. Isn't it? Just three development games left in him. 100k material at best after turning 22. Just surprised

-Dunno, batsmen go for a lot these days
-Keepers go for a lot

Its a lot but if a few players thought 15 was good enough for a keeper then can see why it would escalate. I would be thinking more like 500k but definitely more than 100k as a senior.

If he wins his next dev game against me he will likely promote, guess it could be why.Think he would still be eligible. I don't mind not to promote, so he could have saved some money if so

I bid far too much on a player simply because I thought I was searching actual not potentials once :D mistakes can happen lol

But yes batsmen are hard to get. Apart from the ones I sell ofc.

I don't know whether the discussion on this already done or not. TM is getting weird as bowlers are going cheap and batsmen are costlier than the diamonds. However, I feel the reason for this is youth pull. Mod's really need to check, if batsmen gets less and bowlers rules then the game will turn boring. I am sure many here are struggling for batsmen. Atleast, we should get 1 average pull in 10-15 weeks. In my case, I haven't seen a batsman pull since ages. This will imbalance the game for sure.

Apparently, my $15,000 was a little too low

Pretty sure it's been like this for a long time.
Note that any team requires 6 batsmen and 5 bowlers. I suspect that's enough to tip the balance the way we see it.

I actually think the reason is partly down to the match engine ball quality issue. Really good bowlers don't tend to do much, if any better than average ones, so people will often prefer an allrounder or a lesser bowler who can field.

I'm not sure. In the past 3 weeks there have been 2 batsmen over 45 potential on the TM, both are due to go for well over 1mil.

Meanwhile there have been at least 4 bowlers of the same skill on the TM and they're not hitting 1mil.

Take, for instance:

And

http://www.stumpedgame.com/player.php?Player=188850

Both 48 potential. The batsman is erratic, the bowler is a crowd pleaser with F&G. Yet the batsman is worth 8 times more, apparently.

Finding that top order batsman is really tough. I've got plenty of players I would consider middle order batsmen, but only a couple of top order batsmen.

I have noticed more quality bowlers on the transfer market than batsmen. Just a simple matter of supply vs demand.

Also with bowlers we have seamers & spinners. Only really need maximum of 4 spinners...in a squad. Excess spinners need to go somewhere.

I also noticed with youth pulls..more like to get a good bowler than a batsmen.

So good quality batsmen are rare on the market.
