Anything to suggest coach quality?

Postby Stomalomalus » Wed May 01, 2019 6:54 pm

So I need a new coach (batting as the main skill, fielding would be nice as a secondary, so I can train that on 1 player).

There are none on the TM, so I was wondering if there was anything to look out for in players promoting to coach?

I've not seen anything in my previous attempts that makes a difference, but could experience, current skills, potential skills, captaincy...have any impact?

Have been thinking on this for a long time. Luckily, a 31/43 bat and 31/42 with 20 exp ready to transition into a coach in 2 weeks. Let's see how he converts.

Ok ... here goes. Have converted the above noted player to a coach. His stats before conversion were 31/43 and 30/42. Experience at 20, Captaincy at 6. His coaching skills are now Batting 2, Bowling 2, On-filed training 2, Physiotherapy 4. To be honest, I'd expected better skills.

I'd guess that better skills mean that a better die gets rolled. So instead of a level 0-2 for a weak player, you're going to get 0-7 for a very strong one. That die roll might still be biased toward lower numbers, so it's probably not right to expect better scores. Hope would be a more appropriate emotion, I'd guess.

Odin has basically nailed it.

being "Good" to turn into a coach rolls a die with a larger maximum.
