Hit the 70k mark yesterday. Don't think my club has done that before, all thanks to a couple of new recruits with high touch and skill

Well what about that for a thriller.

Elemental Beasts took on Pro Crastinators, on a green wicket, fairly roughened up from a game that was just played. Andrew Smee took Ghosh in the first over, to leave us at 7-1. That led to a slow rebuild on a difficult wicket. 59-1 was the score after 19, before Sajith cut loose. He went from 26 off 49 to 50 off 64, Baker kept quiet mostly, until he hit 3 consecutive 4's in the 27th over. Baker reached his 50 off 96 balls. Sajith unluckily chopped on for 99, and Baker soon followed. This left the score at 172-3 after 38. Small contributions towards the end, including a last ball 6 from Koops, saw us finish at 262-7.

They started quietly, losing their first wicket at 13, in 6.1 overs. Pabley struck twice and Koops once to leave them in a bit of a mess, at 87-4 in the 23rd over, which meant Smee came out to the crease. He was dropped on 7, a difficult chance in the infield put down by Turner. It would end up to be quite costly. Lee and Smee built a partnership, until Lee nicked behind for a solid 51 (76), the score at 132. Requiring 129 off 114, Smee took to Koops and then everyone else. He brought up 50 in 41 balls, and built a partnership with Kabir Saif. He then reached his 100 off 83. In a partnership of 103 with Saif, he scored 70. Then Sabir managed to get an inswinger to hit Saif on the pads, getting him LBW, and ending the over by knocking over Battersby for 4. 8 off the next over made it 14 off 24 with 3 wickets left, Smee on the other end. Sabir bowled a crucial double wicket maiden, getting two more to hit the stumps, and ending with 5-57, narrowly missing out on a hat trick.

14 off 18, Smee gives over the strike to the No.11, Sarmistha.
Surprising everyone, he middles it and hits it for 6, then survives the next 2 deliveries.
Now, they're 6 away from victory, and if Sarmistha survives, Smee could do it in a couple of hits in the next over.
But Pabley managed to hit the middle stump on the last ball of his over, securing a 5 run win, as Pro Crastinators lost 22-5 at the end.

Andrew Smee's ton and 3 wickets giving him the MoM award.
