Friendly v Australia 15 May

Postby rtj45 » Wed May 15, 2019 7:24 am

Apologies for the lack of write up for our game v Bangladesh. In the end we won that game fairly easily with Wright and Williams starring with the bat after Battersby Hiram and Milton did well with the ball.

Our bowling is causing us some headaches at the moment as our bowlers vying for places are all performing! To try out some batting ideas we have brought in shelton and Quelch for Boreham and Gooch. Boreham has served england well over the past few seasons but may have reached the end of the line. Gooch is crowding our superstars so we have decides not to include him in the 15.

Euther way back to the main story, our team v Australia is as follows:

Quelch (c)
Jawad
Millard
Shelton
Jethani
Woollings (wk)
Hiram
Battersby
Puvi
Gervais
Milton

Best of luck to our 3 debutants and let's give the aussies a good game

Bradfield bowled well, too, no? 3-33 is good return. But his lack of stamina is a real problem, right...

Good to see Sheldon in! Here's hoping he can score a few.

Ah yes Bradfield was the pick of the bunch! Slipped my mind as we were focusing on the seam options on Sunday. Bradfield did good!

Good luck to shelton today :)

Umm, Shelton has long been retired from nats :P
But not a great debut by Sheldon, maybe he thought he was Shelton at nat level :ugeek:

Wow! That was some game and it was fantastic for our young team to score a win!

We put the aussies into bat and all our bowlers did their job to keep the runs down and the wickets up. Puvi was the pick with 5/26 although another good performance from Milton dudnt go unnoticed.

In response the young top order was brittle and exposed our middle order quite early. Step up jethani on his 2nd international start to hit a wonderful 60 and win the game for England.

India next :)

Not the best debut for Sheldon... Well done on the win.
