I really hate being right sometimes.

Obviously we've got to wait and see how England's batsmen go. But I've got a horrible feeling this series won't even be competitive, based on what we've seen so far.

And there we have the aurora of test cricket.

Fair point!

In saying that, I wasn't expecting the pitch to pan out like it did late in the game. It didn't feel like English conditions at all, more subcontinental, and that favoured us since our batsmen love tracks that give nothing to the seamers, and our spin bowler is much better. Can still easily see England dominating the rest of the series if they prepare fresh wickets.

Archer took 6 wickets and got a century in his warmup...

He'll replace Jimmy but if Jimmy misses the whole series, it's an Aussie win.

Out batting is crap, especially so in the 2nd half of Bayliss, where our players cannot adapt from whack a mole cricket.

Wade needs to retire and so does Tim Paine.

I'm actually intrigued to hear Bump's logic on this. I do love a good stand-up comedy act.

So he's cheating his teammates out of a review? Like a secret England mole (the runs are his deep cover)?

Or he's cheating by asking for the decision checked as closely as possible using available technology? Like cheating a speeding ticket by asking to have it checked by a speed camera.
