Australia vs Bangladesh Semi Final 2 (From an Australian perspective)

Coming into the finals after a near perfect season Australia felt confident about taking on Bangladesh although our last game was that close that anything could happen.

Bangladesh Innings

Sending Bangladesh in it looked like a poor decision with the top order really dominating with only Sattar falling to Bristow and a fast score rate with runs flowing freely at the start and through the middle order. The total looked like it was going to go over 350 at one point but some good bowling at the death by Melville and Traynor contained Bangladesh to a total that seemed possible to chase with the long line up Australia has.

Australian Innings

After being set 321 for victory a disasterous start with Austin, Needham and Laker all falling cheap, 2 from runouts which can always be considered unlucky, but a really strong counter attack from Thorndyke who has had an amazing 2nd half of the season with 2 centuries and a half century from his last 3 innings. Vincent also fought hard with him and until Vincent came out it looked like Australia might cruise home but unfortunately once Thorndyke and Vincent fell, Bowden wasn't able to keep things going however Ward and Melville provided some fight in the lower order until both fell, it always looked like Australia might scrap home however as things got closer and closer with Smee who has got us home last time. However another run out denied Australia the win at the end, even with some sneaky runs from the tail. But it wasn't our day but all in all a strong season and a very strong future with alot of the key players this season very young and still have some room to grow.

Good luck to both teams for the Finals.

The winner of the Crawford medal goes to Thorndyke for his late surge of runs

The Winner of the Bashford medal goes to Traynor for his 26 wickets this season.

Traynor gains entry to the hall of fame for this season as a result as Thorndyke is already in.

The world cup final. The mightily impressive English side have won 24 out of their last 27 sod internationals. With a batting top 6 that has flayed most sides into orbit they will be quietly confident of success.

Bangladesh on the other hand are the underdogs, the minnows of stumped who always punch above their odds. Some dismissive batting displays of their own have pulled them to the final. The question is, is there one more golden performance they can unleash?

Welp we lost that with our batting unfortunately. As Bangladesh and temple showed we should've chased 300 and can consider our top orders failure a bit unlucky.

Nevertheless congratulations to Bangladesh on their maiden title. Good team management and solid tactics. Well done.

YAY! Bangladesh won the Final!!! Really, feeling proud as a citizen of Bangladesh :) It was a great team performance by them... Specially Nitesh Chitnis from my team taken 4 wickets! was called the Man of the match, I've checked the Pundits Opinion... Proud of him, played so well against that powerful English lineup... CONGRATULATIONS CHAMPION BD.... You deserve this.. :) :D

Hamayun, Malik and Rashid towards the end batted exceptionally well. Captain Chitnis changed the game with 4 wickets of his bowling and that run out.

Congratulations Bangladesh! Congratulations Management. What a day. The underdogs rule!

Congratulations to the English Nat management as well. They've had an amazing journey so far but today seemed just unlucky.

Great work by Bangladesh! Totally unexpected just a few games ago. Beating both Australia and England in the final two games is massive.
