Hmmmm, dont agree with the puvi going for 52 to "all rounders", considering at least a third (18) of those runs were when he bowled to the opener Tyler.
As for the 38 skill bowler, yes however he's a fast bowler on that extremely quick deck so going to be an improved performance.
Good game though.
This isn't a qualm against New Zealand, more of a qualm of how we lost.
Tbf Tyler is a good bat but with the opener trait and a high variation England bowling attack he did well to stay in for so long. Puvi shipped the bulk of his expense to the all rounders at the death, with poker-faced superstar and high variation - gna happen eventually in law of averages but can't really deny it happened. Comparing him to the 38 skill bowler with no bowling traits, yes the 38 skill is fast and he did bowl mainly to the tail - but still frustrating when your bowlers get humped.
It was a good game and no problems with losing - You have a strong team and could easily win that game 50% of the time - just annoyed at how we lost. Sri Lanka game we just got outplayed and didn't score enough batting first. Feel one or two good performances from NZL v bad from us (which were probably lower than average players on your side relative to context vs. generally above average on ours - proved decisive).
