Also Tonks are in a spot of bother vs Fartland - win to bumpuss' team in that one would really open up the table.

And on my own game, pretty happy with Swetha's SOD debut for my team - claimed the pundit's player of the match with 88 (102) opening the batting, a catch, and a cool 2 wicket maiden to close out the game. Not bad for a $1000 transfer. Frederick Scott also played well with 3/15 and 2 run outs. A much needed bonus point win that will hopefully reboot the season!

Ball quality ratings today clearly being given on artistic impression
Indolent Devils 176-1 32 overs
Yet the bowlers all grading well 6.8,7.0,7.1,7.6 and 7.8
The only wicket to fall being an early run out.

Pretty even match-up with East Salisbury CC v Elemental Beasts, both teams came in 2-2 in their last 4 head-to-head's, on a pretty difficult pitch (42/77/81).

Elemental Beasts chose to bat on the away field, and lost both openers after they got decent starts. Jeff Milford struggled but held up one end as Murad Naeem worked his way to a classy 53. However, a series of wickets, they found themselves at 133-6 in the 34th. Then Zuyderhoff and Koops got together, both in good form, the latter on the back of his maiden T20 century just 2 days prior. They had a partnership of 61 off 49, before Zuyderhoff fell. From then, Koops hoarded most of the strike, until he was the last man to fall on the last ball of the 48th, for a fighting 45-ball 64. The Beasts finished on 241.

Gundugollu dismissed Davies in the 4th but East Salisbury started well. Dylan Few was in fantastic form, reaching 50 [52] off just 57. He then fell for 57 from 65 but the scoreboard had 99 runs on it by then. Robbie Cambridge held the innings steady and reached his own 50 off 78. After 30 overs, they stood at 133/2, with 2 set men at the crease. Jimuta stretched his arms and slammed Koops for a 6, before the spinner hit back and had him LBW 2 balls later. Cambridge continued to ease into boundary hitting, but Milford dismissed Brathwaite at the other end cheaply. Then, the West Indian spinner had Cambridge LBW for a fighting 86 off 117. This meant with 5 wickets left, East Salisbury needed 44 off 48. Michael Pearce had Warfield play onto his stumps, before Gundugollu took 3 wickets in the 44th, all clean bowled. He then hit the stumps again for his 5th time at the start of the 46th, giving him a hat-trick, and figures of 5-23 in 7.1 as the Beasts won by 21 runs.

Gundugollu was adjudged man of the match.

This round might split Aus 1.1 wide open: in the first innings Rebel Slaves (currently 8th) has posted a massive 326 against the 2nd placed Tonkers. Fartland (5th) and The Reds (1st) could go either way after Fartland posted 261, and the same with FI and GVE after my team managed 253 - they hit 5.5 runs an over early on and never accelerated thanks to regular wickets. The other game might also be an upset with Carthagians needing 333 to beat stuey's team.

A win to Rebel Slaves, Fartland and FI would mean the top 5 sitting within 1 or 2 points. Definitely possible at this point if not totally likely.

Excellent 154 by Murray Ainsworth, leading Rebel Slaves to 326. However, my batsmen weren't fazed by the total and worked together superbly to chase the total down with 5 overs to spare. Almost every one of my batsman made a good contribution, except for Boardman who usually flops anyway. Solkar was best with a brutal 95 from 58 balls. Zakaria hit the winning runs with a 6. Tonked! :)

Bit disappointed that the top 3 all won in the end! GVE managing to beat us with a couple of balls to go :(

Yeah, we stole that at the end. Still a very interesting home stretch to come.
