Somehow West Row Wyverns, after being ranked outside the top 100 when the season started, find themselves in a cup final against fellow EurAfrican opposition The Penguin Squad.
The final should be a very tight game and it will be difficult to pick a winner, best of luck YVRK.
Path to the final
West Row
bot (A) - 20k
Sherlocks (A) - 53k
Merry Orangutans (A) - 59k
Legend Killers (H) - 62k
Southern Avenue Park XI (A) - 65k
Tonkers (H) - 70k
Liverpool Vikings (A) - 64k
Velociraptors (H) - 59k
West Row had a couple of close games in round 3 and round 4 as both the Merry Orangutans and Legend Killers posed big questions of West Row's bowling attack. In both instances West Row's long tail just about got them to victory. Since then West Row have been unstoppable beating 4 strong opposition comfortably. Parker has been a big threat with the ball, his manager being rewarded by his experience. Undoubtedly a lot of pressure sits with top run scorer Abbas, however players such as Waas, Worth and Rose have stood up when required. The addition of Sattar should further strengthen what is already a long batting line up, with all rounder Saleem batting at number 11. West Row's true strength lies in the fielding, rating 91.3k in the semi final v Velociraptors.
Penguin Squad
bot (A) - 21k
bot (H) - 18k
BTP's Crusaders (A) - 50k
Weymouth Bay Sharks (H) - 59k
Pest CCC (H) - 69k
Pro Crastinators (H) - 67k
Dark Lairds of the Etive (A) - 66k
Absolute Madness (H) - 65k
The Penguin Squad have breezed through the majority of their games without too much struggle. The batsman have piled on the runs and the bowling unit has stood firm. GIlbert and Bennett are both vying for the top run scorer of the season in the cup with Hafeez likely to claim the top wicket taker spot. The Penguin Squad is a well rounded team with a strong top 4 and decent support from all rounders in Blackwell and Hafeez. Fielding is also strong.
The most recent result saw West Row just about beat Penguin Squad in the Hedley Verity Cup semi final all but 6 days ago. The game was very close and relied yet again on West Row's long tail to chase down a below par score. Its a difference of approaches as we will expect Penguin Squad to bat first on the day and put up a score to defend and hope that West Row's long tail doesn't chase it. See you Sunday!

Nah pretty sure that's still velociraptors, but I imagine rtj isn't that far behind! (I think raven has 6-7 cups? Hard to tell because not all the recent cup trophies have been given out lol)
Well done mate and its good to see your boys back competing amongst the best again

Well played rtj.

Im happy that we actually managed to get to the finals, having to get past a couple of tough teams including the champions of EurAfrica Div 1, Pro Crastinators. We’ll have another go next season

Re: Season 32 cup
Good game YVRK.
Yes unlucky re top order not firing, they did seem to cone put quite aggressive and the worn pitch may have contributed to their demise. My top order then decided to lose 4 wickets fir 5 runs and it got very nervy!! Ireland and iqbal are both over 40 batting skill so both pretty handy and thankfully some disciplined batting got us home. As you say a few more runs Nd it would have been a different story.
With that team you'll definitely be challenging next year too YVRK! And torquil might find good touch too which would be a blessing!

Re: Season 32 cup
Great game, congrats rtj. I lost the semi to the penguins but your bowlers did what mine could not, taking early wickets to put their strong top order out of the equation. Yvrk's bowlers made it competitive but it was always going to be tough to defend that total. Great game.
PS 90k fielding is insane!
