Jochem Botes is singehandedly keeping Barnstoneworth in this game. First with the bat where he scored 38 to shepherd them to a repsectable total, and now 3 wickets (and counting) with the ball, barely giving away runs

CHAMPIONS

Went all in on the 2020 this season including paying nearly 4m for an ageing 2020 specialist as it was the last chance to take all of the English titles before reorganisation.

Pretty chuffed with that. Culmination of a 4 season plan which included the DEV last season.

And to top it off, timed the run chase to win with 7 down so everyone but the tail enders got a bat

What a crazy game. I thought we were at least 25 runs short, then Hopper threw 24 pies for 56 runs and I was sure we were dead and buried. Then 8 wickets for 10 runs with 3-7 from Botes, 4-5 from Matthews then Sivaraman having a 3-2 over in the 18th to clear them up for 113. Bizarre but welcome.

Nice to see us finally win a T20 without looking as if we were going to choke it througout. Though to be fair batting remains a woe, with Pendleton being the only genuine batsman to really get set and played really well for his 50. Luckily he found an able partner in Billy Bourne down the order, who despite having only 22/29 batting skill thinks of himself as the next Andrew Flintoff, smashing a brutal 49(30) and only just missing out on his half ton which would've meant that he would've scored 50s in all 3 formats despite being a tailender. We then bowled well with Venkateswaran taking his maiden 5-fer, and Slater making up for his golden duck with the gloves by taking two catches and a stumping
