Updated after round 5.

Congratulations to a few teams who have qualified for the quarter finals!

Penguin Squad
Talking Heads
Calgary Beer Guzzlers
Marvellous Effort That
Birmingham Blasters

Pickersleigh should be through now too and Breaking Winds have the odds heavily in their favour, leaving a lot of teams jostling for one spot.

I think we now have a week's break.

For those teams that haven't qualified, do you want me to organise some fixtures for comparable placed teams to run alongside the quarter finals?

That would be good, as a suggestion perhaps the teams could be grouped ie 9th to 12th, then 13th to 16th and finally 17th to 20th. During the qf, sf and finals round they all play each other in round robin to see who finishes in each position. I'd envisage that all the loosing qfs would also play each other to find their final positions 5th to 8th.

However it works out, well done for running this compy

To note, there are no fixtures this weekend, but the final round of fixtures will occur next weekend.

But my schedule says that there I have my friendly fixture on the 4th of July (so this weekend) against the Weymouth Bay Windies

Oh... interesting, seems like the final group games are on:

Group 1: 4th July
Group 2: 5th July
Group 3: 7th July
Group 4: 9th July
Group 5: 12th July

So each group has fixtures one after the other... :o

My pitch is currently on 70 wear and there is 93 cloud cover - batting is gonna be a nightmare. Was planning on bowling first and trying to chase down a low-ish total, but I've lost the toss and been sent in to bat, doesn't look like we'll cross 150. eli56's bowling is also rated higher than mine now (even with lower ratings than me with everything last game they still won by 1 wicket) and his top order is solid, so this game looks like an almost certain loss.

Edit: Yup, 20/4 with my top order all gone, I only have 3 decent batsmen left, one of whom is a finisher who will struggle against the swinging ball. I can only hope that my bowlers are as effective - I have two players with dry hands so that may help, but my attack doesn't have the pace that his does so it may not be as threatening. Also just realised that I've given my batsman with 10 bowling skill a powerplay over, fingers crossed that his pies will get wickets.

Important chase for Weymouth Bay Windies here, they need a win to give themselves a shot at the last 8, a loss and they are eliminated.
