Just 2 days didn't login, and looks like the competition is already filled with some tough teams. I wish all the best to all the teams involved.

Warm Regards,
Stellar Ram.

So we're in Group D.

Teams:
1. Setemares (world SOD rank 14)
2. Legend Killers (rank 24)
3. Fictionally Inclined (rank 51)
4. Real Madrid (rank > 100)

Team strengths (based on recent expert previews):

The top three teams are very evenly matched. Setemares has very balanced batting/bowling and incredible fielding. Legend Killers has exceptionally high skilled batsmen and bowlers but poor fielding. Fictionally Inclined is kind of in the middle of both, with a weak mid-order and tail and middle order bowling but relatively strong elsewhere. Real Madrid is a relatively new team and they'll be looking to cause tactical upsets rather than rely on superior skills.

General thoughts:
Setemares are top seed, currently coming second in the top division in England. We've only played them once (in the season 19 Cup). Way back then it was a super close game, Setemares needed 2 to win from the last ball and scored a 4. Hopefully we can push them hard in this tourney as well. Four players from my season 19 team are still in my lineup, and three of the Setemares so it's quite a different proposition this time round.
My tips: Decent batting particularly in the middle order, and balanced bowling throughout the innings. Their real strength though is fielding, which is exceptional. Combined with an extremely green/bouncy wicket they will look to send us in, keep it as tidy as possible and take every chance presented. They'll be confident chasing down any target. Strange fact: their captain Pradeep Sellamuttu has only EVER bowled at international level. In those four overs, he took 3 wickets and has an average of 12!!!

Key players:
Karl Rowley - a match winner with the ball and an important top order batsman.
Max Watts - a very fine batsman in top form.

I don't think we've ever played second seed Legend Killers. They're in the second division in India, but smashing opponents there so I'm expecting a tough game here.

My tips: great batting, and very fast and skillful bowling attack, green bouncy home pitch. I mean FAST - their lineup is entirely fast bowlers, with a single slow option in former England national RWS Stanley Temple. They are an interesting foil to Setemares - very similar home conditions, but different approach - LK will also look to put their opponents in, confident they can chase down a target. They have a terrific batting lineup so will be confident chasing down targets as well. Their sole weakness is relatively poor fielding, which might create an opening for opponents to carve out big scores if they can avoid getting bowled out! They'll be a very tough opponent.
Key players:
Liam Thorndyke, an ancient warrior reaching the end of his career but still a runs machine.
Pretty much all of their bowlers are match winners in their own right!

You'll have to do your own homework on Fictionally Inclined's strengths and weaknesses!
Key players:
Bernard Heaybeard - key to our whole innings, get him out and the team is pretty much cooked.
Sam Bowles - top quality bowler but might find conditions unsuitable on these pace friendly wickets.

Real Madrid is an unknown quantity. We've met them in T20 with some success. They have a slower and low bouncing home wicket, which won't suit the speed dominated top 2 seeds. They'll be hoping to use conditions to get an upset or two.

Key players:
Dirk Hattingh is a current SA nat player, looks a decent FM bowler.

Fantastic Liquefry this is the type of tactical thinking and enthusiasm that I like and makes running comps like this worthwhile. You will likely see some more teams in your group given the latest development though!

you're right... he's captain not keeper. fixed. Still weird that he's never bowled at any level (including DEV) apart from international :D

Aye, his keeping is even worse than his bowling.

Dan Gervais (55 potential) is not too pleased that his skipper has somehow ended up with a better international bowling record than him!

It's a great scouting report anyway. Really looking forward to the games.
