Not surprisingly we were well beaten by Braves today. Going to be a struggle as we are ranked 121 in the world but we have five teams in the league rated in the top 50! In fact only one team, Weymouth Bay Sharks at 139, are placed below us in ranking so finishing anything above 7th will be a bonus.

Sheldon hit a century which led to them posting 313. Thankfully my top order all contributed with bat and new addition Vince Bowles saw us over the line with the bat to hand us a 2 wicket victory.
Very close game, well played Tom

Re: Quarter Cup Game Day - Week 1
The realisation that every team in Group A bar one is 60k+ rating has suddenly made this possibly the most open (and arguably hardest) group.
This is going to be a tight one.

Group A looks hard but all the groups have their challenges. Most teams have not played each other a great deal and ratings can be a bit misleading as well because of the fact that it's easier to get a higher rating in a smaller country than a larger one. I think you'll find the groups as balanced as I can with a few exceptions being that the cheaters removal did take the strongest team from one group. But that was beyond my control. I am glad that teams like that are removed though.
You guys are really evenly matched today so should be a great exciting match for the neutral. Good luck to both of you!

Well done Itraynor for putting all this together, much appreciated!!
Weymouth Bay Sharks ranked DEAD last in their group
Surely not! We did ok today, didnt embarrass ourselves although fell 60 runs short in the end after our 2 allrounders but up a spirited rear guard to try & make a game of it..... our tail though dinny fancy it & were beaten fair n square.

A gentle relaxed game today.

Maliyekkal Hero's would have been pleased with an explosive 363-7. Featuring Hasmukh Girsh's stunning 128 and Sachsukh Sethi scoring 60 off just 29 deliveries in a display of brutal savagery.
Given that on Friday Malvern Pickersleigh had made struggled to knock out 165 for the win, expectation was low and more dismal batting was expected. Did it materialise, hell no! A solid opening partnership, followed by the Silver and Abbott show and kaboom its 365-3 with five overs to spare. Almost worth doing the maths for the bonus point.

We like to run around a lot in the field

Omkar CC had a coupla really good partnerships at key moments in the game which broke us & are bowling got a tad expensive in the end giving us a really hard chase on what I thought was a good bowling track (more than happy that you chose to bat first!) We managed a coupla ok partnerships ourselves before loosing wickets quickly after they were broken to leave us well short at the end. Looking forward to the return & hopefully we can eek out a few pts here n there perhaps a W from somewhere!

That could so easily have gone either way.
