Postby ltraynor » Thu Sep 10, 2020 4:16 am

ROUND 3

Round 3 Launches on Saturday, it's great to see the competitive spirit of everyone so far. Some of the group favourites are not necessarily on top so it's good to see the level of competition that is out there. By the end of this round everyone will have just about played the others in their group so it will be interesting where things end up after this round.

Some great matches to look forward to this round.

I want to make particular note of WRW vs Kashmir Warriors. Both undefeated so should be a cracker. I wanted to make sure the up and coming teams in the division had BTB time so they were unlucky to miss out on the spolight match. But will definately be watching the match and hope to see some banter on here.

The Reds vs Nelson is also going to be a match for the ages. Both very dominant teams in their own respective countries and with the merge coming up soon will get to spark a rivalry in the new leagues. So this could be the start of a big rivalry to come.

Liverpool Vikings vs The Tonkers is another clash of the undefeated teams so there is so much action this weekend! You'd be silly to miss out. Bugger the real life England vs Australis series. This is where it's at haha!

Also don't forget the affiliates:

The two undefeated affiliates teams in Group A go head to head on Tuesday so there is stuff going on everywhere!

Not only are we outgunned but we’ve managed to get three of the first four wickets to fall ourselves. Three run outs are definitely not what was required so this will be another thrashing for us.

Manama Maurauders look to have this one against in the bag, despite arguably being the weakest team in our group and losing heavily to teams whom we’ve either beaten or come very close to doing so. We got to a decent 250 but their 47k rated top order has got them off to a flying start by hitting 55 of only 7 overs, and we’ve already put a catch down. My only hope is to dislodge the top 3 but my bowlers have not been up to the task.

Early days...your pitch seems to suit my batsmen atm but but my middle order is capable of going down quicker than Neymar. I hope a few tactical tweaks from the earlier slaughterings will make this a bit closer but I think you are still favourites. We shall see!!!

Well you've currently at 128/0 after 22 overs, I think it's almost crystal clear who the victor will be, honestly I reckon that my batsmen may be to blame here, they were about 50 runs short. Halden has done most of the damage, currently on 60 at nearly a run a ball. We're perfoming worse than we do against 50k rated batting lineups atm.

Your team looks like a completely different unit though, before you were rated about 30-35k in all aspects and now suddenly your bowling is on par with mine and your top order are beastly. How on earth did you manage to do that without bringing in anyone recently from the TM?

The short answer is I'm not sure. I have played certain players a lot more lately but I think part of the reason really is that your track suits my openers at least. They are both quick runners so with a bit of luck and staying together long enough they can knock the rate up pretty quickly. It will be interesting to see what happens from here as there are a couple in the team who SHOULD be able to stick around at a reasonable rate to keep us in it. The runs still to get would have been a stiff target in different conditions. I thought a target over 200 would be a stretch and it still might prove to be. I have targeted decent fielder ratings too and that has started to pay dividends despite now facing over 250. The side is a bit more balanced than previously but it will all be for nothing if we get skittled for another 40-50...

Ha ha! and so it begins.....

Peake being a boss again 8-) . We need to keep up the pressure though, still a 100 odd runs to play with and 7 more wickets to take. Ansar is not helping though, sending down some absolute pies when we need to be keeping everything tight, and he's technically my 3rd best bowler by skill!

Yes, Peake is a right royal pain in the posterior!! :) These two need to put on at least 40...

Well it turns out that I've given Ruchir 10 overs by mistake, never a good idea with a sub 20 skill bowler with Flight and Guile...this should be over soon
