What a shame that after Tonker gave (what was presumably) bang on advice as to what was holding up the competition on the 7th - you must have then acted on that and games began at 0 hours on the 8th. Might it not have been better after such a long delay anyhow to have given people some notice (if it was not possible to have allowed some time lag between the posting of the fixture list and the first match?)
You informed via a forum post that the competition was beginning on the 8th at 4.15 am but by then of course the first matches were already played - with no possible chance to even have seen matches were up, let alone set orders (unless you are an insomniac) - the delays, the odd number of teams and now matches played before the fixture list was raised is rather a ......chaotic start!
Such a shame as there are so few of these events, not withstanding the hiccups your perseverance in running a comp are appreciated
I agree with all of your points. It's all a learning curve for both of us. I can assure you that edition 3 will be devoid of such silly mistakes. As the fixtures are set, you can now finalize the orders against each team, including yourself.
It is indeed a chaotic start, but hey, what's life without some chaos?
By the way, you played a superb opening game against Stellar Soldiers and gave a run for their money. I thought you would win, but as usual, his strong tail wagged a bit to chase the paltry total of 129, which looked like a herculean task, because of your team's efficient bowling and fielding. Keep it up mate!
