I would think it would be exceptionally kind to class him as an all-rounder. Definitely a handy lower order bat, but not an AR. 13 fifties and a century in first class cricket are nothing to sneer at, but for comparion, Darren Gough hit 22 fifties and a century from 100 less games in first class, and he definitely doesn't go down as an all-rounder.

Thank you mate...
Meanwhile, to defend a low score, will need more wickets... a surprise indeed of 3 wickets down of the opposition team.

Well, we're down to the last 4 - congratulations to:
West Row Wyverns
Fictionally Inclined
The Penguin Squad
The Brisbane Lions
Just 2 semis and a final stand between the teams and immortal glory!
Been a couple of stand out bowling performances (after all, Hedley was a bowler so an eye needs to be kept on them!) Two particular 5-fers stand out, 5-26 by Procrastinator's J.Cleese against BuckminsterFullerTeam in Round 2, and 5-28 for Fartland's K. Oden against Jura CC, also in Round 2.
Will we see a 10-fer in the final few games? What a tip to the hat of Hedley that would be! Who knows!

A big congratulations to liquefry, whose Fictionally Inclined team won the inaugural Hedley Verity Cup today after beating West Row Wyverns by 4 wickets with 5 balls to spare. Nathan Rose of WWR picked up the MOTM award after a valiant 102 off 79 balls in the middle order.
https://www.stumpedgame.com/Scorecard.php?Match=1647161 Sadly, we didn't see any bowling heroics to match up to the man, with only four 5-fers and nothing more in the competition. Daniel Halford, from the winning team, picked up the most wickets overall, with 11.
The Hedley Verity Cup will run in alternate seasons, and be in a 50 over seeded format (now that I've worked the kinks out on that bit!)
In the opposing seasons, the John Small cup will take place, a T20 seeded cup, named after the first man to have a recorded first-class century! Keep your eyes open for that one early next season!
Thank you all for entering and congratulations again to Fictionally Inclined!

Cheers jammy. Thanks for running the comp, was a blast and an unexpected win for us. Carried by our bowlers really, Halford topped the wickets to continue his terrific vein of form this season, but our opening bowlers Cole and Mbuli are only a couple of wickets back. None of the batsmen did all that much, we hardly have any players in the top 20 despite my guys playing more games than most of the players above!
