Cracker of a game that

I thought all those dropped catches and Jacob's brilliant innings might have taken it away from us, but the boys kept finding ways to get wickets. Jacobs taking a single, exposing the number 11 with 4 to win, was a bad move.

Really great debut from Obaid, and another captain's knock from Azam set that up for us. Glad our little other strategic moves -playing Khattak despite him being touch and go fitness wise, giving Shail the new ball, and going with 3 medium pacers in the attack - all paid off too. Khattak in particular had a brilliant game. Really underpins the value a genuine all-rounder brings to a team.

Good to get a win against a strong opponent under the belt. Onto the next one!

Tough loss that one. Sajid batted brilliantly for his maiden ODI ton, and 223 while slightly under par was still something to bowl at. However, we really needed wickets with the new ball, and that just didn't happen. Conditions like those are great to bat on once the ball has lost it's shine, and credit to NZ for capitalizing on it. Ernie Kelly's two wickets with the new ball was key for them as well.

Not much I would change tactically, we just needed another 20-30 runs with the bat, or a better start with the new ball. Haven't gone through the comms yet so dunnow if we missed any crucial chances early, or if it was just a flawless performance from Rocco Jerome.

Is Khawaja Khattak out for the rest of the season then? He seems to have suffered a stress fracture (international condition not club) which'll take a month to recover from. Shame, he was looking really good for BD this season and really showed the difference that genuine ARs can make.

Yea he's done. Time for us to swap him out.

Massive blow really. Great player. Not a great start to our campaign.

Oh well. A bit of a break till the next match is nice, gives us time to reflect and figure something out.
